Witnesses, Pictures, and Speculation

Updates have been pouring in from various sites and news agencies.  TMZ has a picture of the accident as well as an account from a supposed witness. The picture is hard to make out, but you can tell that there’s a truck flipped over in the intersection. They also have a video up of what Shia’s truck looks like now.

E! Online states that Shia’s injuries could keep him off the set of Revenge of the Fallen for a month, and that his court date has been tentatively set for August. They also have a short clip of the scene of the accident, though it appears that Shia and the other injured parties had already gone.

MSNBC has a statement from a source close to Shia: “He really is a good kid. He’s been a star most of his life, and he made it this far before making a mistake of this magnitude, it’s way too early for anyone to be lumping him in the Disney-star-gone-bad category. He’s not going to take this lightly. Shia knows how quickly you can lose everything in Hollywood. He isn’t going to be a Lindsay Lohan.”

Shia Arrested For DUI

Shia was arrested again, this time for something more serious.  TMZ has the whole story.  Apparently he was driving in Hollywood and turned left in front of another car.  The two collided and both were sent to the hospital, though no serious injuries were sustained.  Authorities believe that Shia was intoxicated at the time, but we’ll see what happens.  He could be convicted of a felony if the other driver was seriously injured, or if he was drunk driving.  I’ll keep you posted.

Stars In His Future

We all know that Shia has a brilliant career ahead of him. We also know that George Lucas must be impressed with him after all the rumors we’ve heard of Shia continuing the Indy series. But remaking Star Wars IV – VI and casting Shia as Skywalker? That’s just insane… right? Not according to a random blogger TRYLOByte. In this blog, TRYLOByte claims this information can be found in an article in the Swedish newspaper Yad Sloof Lirpa.   Apparently, Shia will be cast as Skywalker, Colin Farrell as Han, and Keira Knightley as Leia. As scetchy as this may seem, you never know what Lucas can cook up in that mind of his, but for his sake I hope he doesn’t go through with this one. Remaking Star Wars? I’m not too sure about that.
